Kheerganga can be trekked almost year-round, but the best months are April to June for pleasant weather and lush green trails, and September to November for crisp skies and stunning views.
Winter (December–February) brings snow, offering a magical experience, though some routes may close due to heavy snowfall. Monsoon (July–August) is less crowded, but trails can be slippery — perfect for those seeking raw, picturesque landscapes.
The trek starts from Barshaini, which is accessible via Kasol.
- By Road: From Delhi, take an overnight bus to Bhuntar (via Manali/Kullu route) from ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Majnu-ka-Tila, or RK Ashram. From Bhuntar, local buses or cabs will take you to Kasol, and then onwards to Barshaini.
- By Train: The nearest stations are Pathankot and Joginder Nagar. From there, take a bus or cab to Kasol.
- By Air: Bhuntar Airport (31 km from Kasol) is the nearest. You can fly from Delhi to Kullu, then take a taxi or bus to Kasol, and onward to Barshaini.
